Other policies might not cover theft or damage if equipment is not kept in certain conditions, i.e stored in locked facilities/compound. But Chubb’s policy doesn’t demand security warranties, so you’ll be covered if something is stolen, even if it’s in transit or being stored off site.
You’re covered if, for example, a sub-contractor doesn’t follow agreed working procedures, leading to equipment failure that damages a structure being worked on.
Our policy also offers broad cover and a wide appetite for trade, size and complexity of risk and includes the following sections of cover:
Contractors All Risks (CAR) policies cover bricks and mortar style civil and building risks while Erection All Risks (EAR) policies cover the installation of electrical and mechanical machinery. For a CAR policy the major perils are fire (including malicious arson), storm, flood, escape of water from fixed installations and temporary water supplies, theft of materials and accidental damage. For an EAR policy the major peril is damage due to breakdown and/or explosion during testing.
Yes, this is automatically included in the policy wording.
Yes. Subject to certain underwriting criteria, the policy can include a 30 day hold covered facility during which time the policyholder must provide full details to enable us to underwrite and rate the 6.5.1 risk.
