Safety is a broad, multidimensional term that should encompass more than just personal protective equipment (PPE). It should address proactive design and planning, worker orientation and training, adequate personal protective equipment and fall protection systems, and it must include commitment from both management and workers. Tower crane safety in particular, needs to be carefully addressed. Tower cranes are the life blood of any major building project, but they can also be one of the deadliest pieces of equipment associated with the project, if not utilized properly.
