John C. Lenzen, Chief Litigation Counsel, Chubb Global Claims

John C. Lenzen serves as Chief Litigation Counsel, Chubb Global Claims, and Executive Vice President, Claims & Chief Claims Counsel for Chubb Bermuda. In this dual role, John manages complex litigation strategies for the Group Claims Organization, and also has management responsibility for Chubb Bermuda’s Claims Department, including excess liability, professional lines, property and political risk claims, as well as personnel. He reports jointly to Frank Lattal, Chief Claims Officer for Chubb Group, and Joe Clabby, Division President for Chubb Bermuda.

John has over 20 years of insurance experience. Prior to ACE’s acquisition of Chubb in January 2016, he was Chief Litigation Counsel, Global Claims for ACE Group, a position that he had held since 2013. He assumed the additional role of Executive Vice President, Claims & Chief Claims Counsel for Chubb Bermuda in January 2017.

John originally joined ACE Bermuda in 2002 as Senior Vice President, Claims & Claims Counsel from the New Jersey law firm of Connell Foley LLP, having previously served a judicial clerkship with the Honorable James M. Havey, Presiding Judge, Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division. He was appointed Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary for ACE Bermuda in 2005, maintaining responsibility for the Claims Department, and assumed the additional role of Deputy General Counsel for Litigation, ACE Group in 2006.

Mr. Lenzen earned his Bachelor of Arts at Rutgers College, his Juris Doctor at Rutgers University School of Law - Newark, and his Master of Business Administration, with High Distinction and emphases in Finance, Corporate Strategy and Business Economics, at the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan, and attended the Executive Development Program at the Wharton School of Business of the University of Pennsylvania. He is admitted to practice law as an attorney in Michigan, New Jersey, New York and Texas, and as a solicitor in England and Wales.
