How does it work?

Understanding our risk appetite is crucial when designing insurance programs for your clients. With this tool, we provide a clear and specific overview of the types of risks we are best suited to write, categorizing them for easy reference.

Chubb’s appetite covers 90% of the GDP. We are interested in writing insurance for companies in Life Sciences, Technology, Professional Services, Natural Resources, Financial Institutions, Entertainment and more. Our expertise spans both major industries and specialized sectors, such as Wholesale and Educational Institutions.

Using Chubb’s Commercial Insurance Risk Appetite Tool is simple. Search by your client’s revenue size and primary state of focus to begin. Then type in the client’s industry, industry description or SIC/NAICS code. The guided search drop-down helps you select the relevant exposure. After selecting a value, you’ll be directed to the output page, which highlights Chubb’s appetite across various coverages. Lines of business are classified as strong, qualified, or none/not applicable. Chubb also provides risk indicators by industry, outlining factors that may strengthen or limit our ability to write the business. Industry-specific resources are also available for reference, including examples of what we’ve written lately.

Chubb offers coverage for companies with revenues ranging from under $30 million up to $1 billion, as part of our Commercial Insurance division. We support small businesses through the middle market. Our lines of business include Package, Property, General Liability, Auto, Workers Compensation, Equipment Breakdown, Multinational, Financial Lines, and more.

This tool is designed for Agents/Brokers; however, Agents/Brokers can use the tool, specifically the Risk Indicators section on the output page to gather critical details on operations that could make Chubb more or less likely to write the exposure.
